We're so happy to launch a limited edition series of printed postcards that features both visual art and works of writing created by working class, marginalized artists living or working in New York's "Hudson Valley" region. Each artist involved (20 total) has been paid a $50 honorarium for their work and the postcards themselves will help share their work far and wide, across the Valley and beyond. The calendars were printed locally in Hudson NY by ProPrinters, who is sponsoring our project. All orders will be shipped via USPS.
Happypack! :)
This pack contains 10 different postcards and centers vibes and feelings of lightness, celebration, and happiness that may be sent during more joyful times.
The artists with work in this pack are: Chloe R, Crystelle, James S, Lidsai J, poroyé, Rhi R, Salem C, Sui Jenneris, Meg B, and Rylee S.
Sadpack! :(
This pack contains 10 different postcards and centers vibes and feelings of heaviness, grief, and tenderness that may be sent during harder times.
The artists with work in this pack are: a apaza, Cedric S, Rita B, Tieralynne, Tiezst "Tie" T, Tony B, Andrea A, B, Daniel B, and Dana G (The Whisper Box).
Specs: The postcards are available for purchase in packs of 10 different cards each (10 cards per pack) and each card is 4 x 6".
Costs: We offer a “sliding scale” model, meaning consumers can “pay what they can”. We ask for anywhere from $0 - $20 per postcard pack (unless folks want to donate extra) based on your own self assessment of your needs and ability. We invite folks to assess their privileges honestly and contribute if and however they can without shame. We trust that our community members who can support monetarily will do so generously so that those who cannot are not burdened or excluded. Thank you in advance to all!
Funds raised: All funds raised through sales of the calendars will go toward recouping any costs fronted, shipping orders, and to future Celebrate845 programming - all of which prioritizes keeping participation costs minimal for artists, collaborating with like-minded venues and spaces, buying supplies locally, not taking commissions on sold artworks, paying collaborators, and circulating funds right back into our community. We underestimated when budgeting for this project and hope to recoup costs so we can repeat the project in the future. No pressure for those who can't contribute in this way, but a call in for those who can!
Thank you to those who helped us the raise funds to pay all 20 artists involved!
